Thomas E. Lamb was born on 11 Feb 1770 in Center (Greensboro), Guilford, NC. Hinshaw, Vol I, p. 660. He died on 15 Jul 1851 in Green, Wayne, IN. He was buried in Williamsburg Cemetery.

He was married to Hannah Lewis (daughter of John Lewis Jr. and Sarah Ruckman) in 1798 in Randolph County, NC. Notes from Billie Lee Lamb Smith of Bucklin, KS: "Thomas and Hannah moved to Indiana about 1809, and lived near Vincennes, until the war of 1812. Then moved to Wayne County in 1816 and remained for a time in the block-house at Williamsburg, the Indians being dangerous at that time. They spent the remainder of their lives in Green Township. Both are buried in Williamsburg Cemetery, Wayne County. A partial history of their descendants is found in A Brief Genealogy of the Thomas Lamb Family by Ruby Manning, 1942.”Children’s names of this union from Billie. Notes from Joyce Agerton, materials received 1972 from Mrs. Oliver (Foy Lamb) Smith, forwarded to Marshall Styles November 1997; "Lamb Family of N.C. and Indiana: Thomas Lamb of Scotch descent was born February 11 1771. He was married in N.C. to Hannah Lewis, daughter of John and Sarah Ruckman Lewis of Guilford County, N.C., who was born January 18 1782 and died October 19 1865 in Wayne County, Indiana. The 1790 Census of Randolph County, N.C., Hillsborough District lists consecutively four Lewis families (David, Richard, John Sr. and John) the following Lamb families: Henry, Benjamin, Nathan and William, who may have been brothers of Thomas and John and Joseph Lamb, either of whom may have been the father of Thomas and with whom he may have been listed. Also in the same neighborhood appears a Jacob, Elizabeth and Cornelius Lamb who could have been brother and sister or cousins of Thomas. Listed next to Cornelius Lamb is a Stephen Lewis. The 1790 census for Perquimans County, Edenton District, lists Phinehas, John, Joseph, and Zachariah Lamb and in Gates County appears an Isaac Lamb, all of whom were living close together. Thomas and Hannah left Randolph County, N.C. after being married and moved to a place near Vincennes, Indiana about 1809-10 where they lived until after the War of 1812 when they moved to Wayne County. The remained for a time in the block house at Williamsburg, the Indians being dangerous at that time. Thomas entered on May 17 1814... 160 acres Green Township, now Perry Township, where he and Hannah spent the remainder of their lives. Perry Township was first settled in 1814, but at the end of 1814 there were but five families within it and the Thomas Lamb family was one of these. He died July 15 1851 and is buried in Wayne County.”

Hannah Lewis was born on 18 Jan 1782 in Pennsylvania. She died on 19 Oct 1865 in Green, Wayne, IN. She was buried in Williamsburg Cemetery.

Thomas E. Lamb and Hannah Lewis had the following children:
