Reuben Lamb and Martha Moore had the following children:
iii. Reuben Lamb Jr was born on 16 Sep 1769 in N. Carolina. Research of Sharon Minton Hill, 9/1998. He was disowned by the Quakers, marrying out of unity on 25 Feb 1797 in Back Creek, Randolph, NC. Hinshaw, Vol I, NC, p. 723. He died on 30 Apr 1839 in Randolph County, NC. His obituary appeared in the 7 May 1839 edition of the Greensboro Patriot, NC newspaper. "Died, Reuben Lamb in Randolph County, 30 April 1839 after a 2-3 day illness. Constable for 36 years." In the Randolph County Militia records, court martial proceedings, 17 September 1809, an entry reads "Reuben Lamm, having craved on appeal from the court martial of the company to which he belonged, to this court, obtained an investigation of Subject and is considered not liable to pay the fines.” Was it this Reuben Lamb? "Reuben Lamb Jr. fathered two illegitimate children by Margaret Brookshire, Emsley Brookshire and Anna or Hannah Brookshire... the Brookshire children were taken to Wayne County or Henry County, IN with Tom and Sarah Brookshire Newby in 1826," so wrote Tim Walls in a note to me on 18 Dec 1999.
Could you please add sources for the children of Reuben Lamb? There are currently only names and nothing further for 6 of the 8 and only birth years for the other two. I have no spouse or children for Reuben. This doesn't mean he had none, but I'd like to know where your information comes from.
