Note: Dana Eugene Lamb, 83 of Arkansas City died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Medicalodge East in Arkansas City.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. Pastor Gale Rider will officiate. The family will receiver friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Dana was born September 24, 1923 to Alvie L. Lamb and Ella E. (Parr) Lamb south of Geuda Springs, KS. He attended school in Kansas and Oklahoma, Landon District #7. Dana served during World War II in Battery A, 110th antiaircraft artillery in the United States Army.
On December 5, 1946 he married Mildred M. Vermillion in Arkansas City where the couple made their home. She preceded him in death in 1972. On June 12, 1973 he married Jessie L. Gregory in Arkansas City. Dana worked for Total Petroleum for 42 ½ years, retiring in 1988 as a maintenance supervisor. After retiring, he worked for Kansas Parks and Wildlife.
Dana was a life member of the V.F.W. , American Legion and National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., Local 642 Union I.U.O.E. and president and officer for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie of the home; sons, John H. Gregory and wife, Debbie; Jess L. Gregory and wife, Robin; sister, Shirley Schimmel and husband, John; grandchildren, Scott Goodale, Tonya Dubrock, Stewart Matthews, Terry, Rebecca and Russell Gregory, eleven great grandchildren and three nieces.
Dana was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mildred and daughter, Karen Goodale.
A memorial has been established with the Mt. Zion Community Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
