Mary Elizabeth Lamb was born to Issac Lamb and Elizabeth Slater Lamb February, 1832 in Virginia. She is one of 13 children

Mary E. Lamb married George W. Cain on January 9, 1852 in Greene, Ohio. [1] George Cain was a Civil War Veteran and he came home from the war with injuries to his ears making him deaf and to his back making working very hard. His injuries were well documented by affidavits from his doctors and from many others. His paperwork for attempting to get a military pension was 100 pages long. He worked hard to get his $12 a year. Mary had to be the one to care for him. They lived in Bethel, Miami, Ohio.[2]

George W. Cain and Mary Elizabeth Lamb Cain had 8 children.

Mary E. Cain's will gives her home as Bethel Township, Miami, Ohio. In her will, she names her children as Frances, Joseph, Jane, Edgar, Emma, Charles, George, and Mollie, the latter being dead. She signs her will with a mark. The film of her death record places her birth in Parkersburg, Pennsylvania, and she died of dropsy of the heart.

George W. and Mary E. Cain are buried in Bethel Cemetery, Miami, Ohio on route 202 just south of Route 40 and just north of Route 70 row 10 in the middle of the row.[3]
