Notes

From source Styles:
"William was listed in the 1754 taxables list of Perquimans County as a taxable male. He was living adjacent to Henry Lamb, who was listed with five taxable males. This is positive evidence that William was a son of Henry and Elizabeth."
"Perquimans Monthly Meeting records of March 7 1759,p.57, show that Miriam Lamb [daughter of Samuel Newby Sr. and Elizabeth Albertson] was "liberated" to marry Abraham Elliott, and that on April 4 1759, various friends appointed to attend the wedding reported that no wedding took place. It is possible that she was 'liberated' because a one-year mourning period had elapsed since her husband's death. Miriam Newby was born in Jun 1726 in Symons Creek, Pasquotank, NC. Hinshaw, Vol I, p.108, Pasquotank MM; 'Miryam Newby born 6----1726, at later end of month.' "
