William was born in 1802. His parents were Matthew and Sarah Lamb. He was christened on 15 August 1802 at Silkstone, Yorkshire. [1]

William married Elizabeth Battley on 7 February 1826 at Silkstone, Yorkshire.[2]

One of their children, George Lamb, died in 1838 when he was 8 years old. He was a victim of the Huskar Colliery disaster on 4 July 1838.

William passed away in 1873, age 70. [3]
