John was born in 1908. He is the son of Charles Lamb and Georgia Dixon. From Wesley Lamb 28 Nov 2018: "I remember John coming around to visit my parents. They were always very pleased to see him. I just remember him being very quiet. I also remember him having one hand/arm being disabled." Wesley's father was Harold Lamb, a first cousin of John Dixon Lamb.
From Phyllis (Wilson) Irish: "He had polio when he was around 5 or 6 yrs old so about 1913 or 14. It didn't really stop him from doing anything. He never married and his weak arm and leg didn't prevent him from farming his father's land and he rented the land out until he moved to town. Dad said he went to Iowa State for about 3 years but never finished.
He used to come to our holiday dinners when my grandparents were alive and continued with my family until he died. I was always a little bit afraid of him but he was a nice guy and had VERY STRONG opinions about many things."
