William Kaye Lamb was born in New Westminster, British Columbia on May 11, 1904. He was the son of Alexander Lamb and Barbara McDougall.
At the time of the 1911 Canada Census, Alexander, Barbara S., Cecil A., and William K (mistranscribed as "S") Lamb (mistranscribed as "Samb") were listed as living in New Westminster, British Columbia, along with Barbara's sister Archena J McDougal[1].
At the time of the 1921 Canada Census, Alexander, Barbara Smith, Cecil Alexander, and Wm Kaye Lamb were listed as living in Surrey, British Columbia, along with Barbara's sister Jane McDougall and a farm labourer[2].
Kaye graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours on May 12, 1927[3]. He received a Master of Arts on May 8, 1930[4].
W. Kaye Lamb was appointed British Columbia's Provincial Archivist in 1934[5].
William married Wessie Tipping in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 15, 1939[6]. On their marriage registration, Kaye's occupation was listed as "Librarian".
He passed away at the UBC Hospital in Vancouver on 24 Aug 1999.[7] William was survived by one daughter.[8]
