Will

Margaret Watkins, of Anne Arundel County, Maryland wrote her Will in May 1772, and it was probated November 7, 1774. She remembers each of her living children and even some grand-children in her Will:

To son Jeremiah Watkins, silver watch, £50.

To daughter Ann Pindell, silver tea spoons, tongs and strainer, wearing apparel.

To daughter, Elizabeth, wearing apparel.

To granddaughter, Margaret Gaither, mourning ring.

To granddaughter, Margaret Watkins, daughter of son Jeremiah, a gold ring.

To granddaughters, Elizabeth Hall's daughter, Ann Pindell'a daughter, Gassaway Watkins's daugher, Joseph Watkins's daughter, to each 20 shillings to buy a mourning ring.

To son Joseph Watkins, executor, the plantation left me by my husband Nicholas Watkins, provided he does not take any other part of estate.

To children: Elizabeth Hall, Gassaway Watkins, Ann Pindell, Thomas and Jeremiah Watkins.
