Henry was the son of Anne and William Lamb, Labourer. He was baptised in October 1830 at St John the Baptist, Croydon.
At working age he was employed as a Servant.
Henry James Lamb married Eliza Stent on 24 August 1873 at Upper Norwood, All Saints with St Margaret, Surrey. Both were of Full Age. Henry Lamb was 20 years older than Eliza. Eliza's brother Harry (Henry) Stent and Mary Lamb stood as their witnesses to the signing of the Marriage record. They lived in Battersea, London at 10 Stonells Place and Henry was employed as a Car Man. By 1881 they had 7 children, Rose Eliza, Mary A, Clara Jane, Henry James, Christine Emily, Joseph W and Robert Charles. The family grew with the births of Alfred, John and Arthur.
In 1901 Henry was now driving a Cab and they lived at 47 Chatham Road, Battersea.
Henry died in 1904 aged 74 leaving Eliza a Widow.
