James was born in 1898. He was the son of Charles Lambert and Matilda Marrs. [1]
On 1 September 1918 James Henry Raymond Lambert, single leather dresser aged 20 born 19.04.1898, Church of England, enlisted with the Australian Army, Regimental Number 1586 and he served as a Gunner with the Royal Australian Garrison Artillery, and the Heavy Artillery Group 36, Reinforcement 21. Described as 5' 10" with fresh complexion, grey eyes and brown hair. Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board SS Wyreema on 14 October 1918. The troop ship was recalled before they disembarked as the war ended. He was discharged on 19 April 1919. [2]
In 1919 Charlie Lambert (Tanner), Matilda Lambert (Home Duties) James Henry Lambert (Tanner) and Lillian Mary Lambert (Machinist) lived in Berry St, Clifton Hill, Victoria. [3]
James Henry Raymond Lambert married Millicent Ada Shepherd in Victoria in 1925. [4]
He passed away in 1929, aged 31 [5] and was buried at the Warringal Cemetery, Heidelberg. [6]
