1940 Census shows him as age 3 living in Pilot, Kankakee, IL with parents Pers & Nelva; brother Harold and sister Phyllis.

He was a Corporal in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served from 14 Jul 1954 to 13 Jul 1957.

Leon Lambert Sept. 10, 1936-May 15, 2010 Visitation for Leon A. Lambert, 73, of Manteno, will be from 4 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, until the 7 p.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. The Rev. Lance Hurley will officiate. Private burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno. He died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno. Mr. Lambert worked in management at Meadow Gold Ice Cream. He was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Milks Grove, Iroquois County, the son of Pern and Nelva Weaver Lambert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean conflict. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Lambert of Bradley, Edward Lambert of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Linda Lambert Hobbs of Manteno; two grandchildren, Jennifer Hobbs of Manteno, Jason Rolando of Bonfield; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bailey Rolando; one sister, Phyllis Conrad of Kankakee; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Elva Lambert of Boerne, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, William Hobbs.
