David Lammie, or Lambie, which was the spelling always used, was born at 10.15 am on the 26th of August 1880, at Dalchalloch, in the parish of Blair Athole, Perthshire, Scotland, the fifth of eight children, and the only son of William Lammie and Joan Stitt.[1] David had four elder, and three younger sisters, Henrietta, Isabella, Mary, Jean, Joan, Elizabeth and Margaret.
David Lambie traveled to Canada in 1907 on board the Cassandra, and worked there at Napinka, Manitoba, Canada, harvesting Wheat, until he returned to Scotland in 1909.[2]

David Lambie married Annie Ewing Johnston at Alyth, Perthshire, Scotland, in 1910.[3] David and Ann had three children, William, Mary and Joan.

David and Ann Lambie decided to travel to Australia, leaving England on the 12th of June, and moving to Ayr, North Queensland, where other family were living, arriving in Australia on board the Hobson's Bay, on the 1st of August 1928. David first worked on several farms in the Burdekin before eventually buying his own farm at Rita Island.

David Lambie passed away in Ayr, Queensland, Australia on the 8th of August 1953,[4][5] and was laid to rest in the Ayr Cemetery, the next day in Gr. # 2334.[6]
