Biography

Richard Lamplugh was born about 1530. He is the son of John Lamplugh and Isabel Stapleton.

He was married (March 23rd, 1583) to Alice Warde, and by her had two sons and three daughters :-

• (a) John Lamplugh (1585-1638), heir to his uncle .
• (b) George Lamplugh,( bap Jan. 27, 1592. dsp March 20, 1639/40).
• (c) Elizabeth Lamplugh (bap April 15, 1584) married (Sept. 27, 1613), George, 2nd son of Francis Lamplugh of Dovenby, and died childless 1645. .
• (d) Dorothy Lamplugh,married June 12th, 1623 Walter Furniss, and had a son and a daughter.
• (e) Ann Lamplugh, who married . . . Vavasour, of Weston, and had in 1645 a son.

His three children John, George and Elizabeth were named in the will of his brother John (1604) who died without issue.
