Barnabas was born in 1632. He is the son of Barnabas Lamson and Mary Liggett.
Babnabas Lamson, " planter," of Salisbury, taxed in 1652, bought and sold land there in 1654. He that year was convicted by the Norfolk Co. Court of fornication with Elizabeth Osgood. He gave bonds to appear and be whipped, and also to maintain the child which should be born; but the bonds were forfeited. If Elizabeth Osgood should keep her child, and secure the town, she was to have the remainder of Barnabas Lamson's estate. She was also to appear and be whipped, her father Wm. Osgood being the bondsman for her appearance.
There is further court documentation that gives the name of the bondsman for Lamson was Jno. Severans and that his bond was not returned. It would appear that Lamson disappeared after this court encounter. There is no evidence that Lamson ever married Elizabeth Osgood, that a child between the two was ever born, or that Elizabeth Osgood ever received any part of Lamson's estate.
A marriage date between Robert Quimby and Elizabeth Osgood of 1656/7, as shown in the attached photo, would be correct and correlates with the child Lydia Quinby as the firstborn between Robert Quinby and Elizabeth Osgood. I have doubts about a child, John Quimby, being born before 1656 unless he was born to an earlier wife of Robert Quimby.
