The following excerpts were taken from PAGE 170: .... 2. Jimmie McLaren Lancaster (13412), the second son of Ethel Mae (Williams) Lancaster (12674) and Leonard Lancaster (12675), saw his first day of light in the old Trion Hospital building where he was born on the 5th of January 1929, in Trion, Georgia. While in high school, he played on the football varsity team, wearing number 15. Jimmie (13412) spent most of his working years at Reigel Textile Corporation in Trion. He first worked for the Town of Trion [was] [sic] during his high school days, doing grass cutting in 1944. After graduating from Trion High in 1945, he worked for a short time in both the Dye plant and Card room, and later worked in the Folding and Packing Department until he retired in July 1994 ... after thirty-eight years. During his time in the Packing Department, he was named ZD Achievement Winner in February 1983 and served on the ZD Advisory Board. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Reigle. He served in the Georgia National Guard for several years. He is a graduate of Walker County Technical School, where he majored in electronics. He became one of the most sought after television repairman [sic] in Chattooga County, Georgia. For several years, he and his mother raised chickens and sold the eggs. One of his major hobbies is photography. As a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Trion, Georgia, he served on several committees. In 1997 while on a senior citizen cruse [sic], he met a lovely lady, Joan Lively (13413). On the 22nd of June 1998, Jimmie (13412) and Mrs. Joan Lively (13413) were married in Rome, Georgia. They are very active in church activities, singing in the church choir, and senior groups. He has two children by a former marriage.
