Biography

William was born in 1836. He passed away in 1912.

In 1880, the Lancaster family lived in Wayne, Doniphan, Kansas. The family included William L. Lancaster, 44, born in Missouri, a farmer; his wife, S.C., 35, born in Missouri; their children, all born in Kansas, Emma, 14; George, 12, a farmer; Hattie, 10; Lydia, 7; Frank, 5; and Dora, 3. All of the children were in school, except for the youngest two. ^[1]

In 1900, the Lancaster family lived in Brenner, Doniphan, Kansas. The town was in the western part of Wayne Township. The household included William Lancaster, 64, born in Missouri in March 1836, a farmer; his wife of forty years, Katie, 55, born in Missouri in Jan. 1845; their children, all born in Kansas, Frank, 24, b. Sept. 1876, a laborer; James, 19, b. 1881, a laborer; Effie, 18, b. 1882, a laborer; Mary, 16, b. 1884; Rosia, 13, b. 1887; and Abby, 9, b. Feb. 1891. ^[2]
