Biography

John is the second son of James Esq of St Clement. [1]

Research Notes

The Lance family is relatively easy to research for three reasons. 1. Cornwall has an excellent on line data base transcribed from the parish reigsters by an Army of volunteers. 2. The lance family is easily traced as nearly all descend from a single family in Devon and Cornwall in the 14th century. 3. Most of the family were literate and had enough prominence to be well documented.
