Biography

Marie Genevieve Lanclos was the daughter of Alexandre Gerasin Lanclos and Marie Uranie Neraut. She was born probably about 1853 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

She obtained a marriage license with Theogene Knott on 26 February 1874 at the Opelousas Courthouse in St. Landry Parish.[2] They were married on 19 March 1874 at St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, St. Landry Parish. Theogene was the son of Hurick George Knott and Ameline Oimon (aka Aimon, Aymond).[3]

Genevieve and Theogene had three known children:

  1. Uranie Knott, b. about 1875, d. 14 Oct 1879[4]
  2. Marie Eurasie Knott, b. 4 Feb 1878,[5] d. 27 Dec 1878[6]
  3. Joseph Desmar Knott, b. 15 Jan 1880[7]
