Salomon was born October 30, 1892 in Rülzheim. Germersheimer Landkreis, Rheinland Pfalz, Deutschland.[1] He married Erna Katz and they had a child, Marion.[2] (see Notes).
Salomon, Erna, and Marion lived in Rülzheim, Germersheimer Landkreis, Rheinland Pfalz, Deutschland until forced to flee to escape the Holocaust. After their travel documents were issued in Stuttgart on May 2, 1935, they left from Bremen July 25, 1935, aboard the SS Bremen and arrived in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States July 31, 1935. Salomon, a merchant, was 5' 3" tall, fair complexioned, with black hair and green eyes. His closest relative still in Deutschland was his mother, C. Landauer, who lived at Alter Landstr 20, Rülzheim. Germersheimer Landkreis, Rheinland Pfalz. After arrival in the United States, he planned to join his uncle, H. Kullman (see Notes) in Waterproof, Louisiana.[2]
Once in the United States, it is not known whether Salomon ever went to Waterproof, Louisiana. By 1940, he and his family were living in Natchez, Adams, Mississippi, United States.[3]
Salomon died January 13, 1942 and is buried on the Jewish Hill in Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, Adams County, Mississippi, United States.[1]
Salomon's daughter, Marion, was born about 1929 in Karlsruhe, Deutschland.[2]
The relationship by which H. Kullman was Salomon's uncle is not known. Is it possible that H. Kullman was acting as an agent to assist with obtaining visas for people attempting to escape the Holocaust by emigrating to the United States and permitted his name to be used as an "uncle"?
