Biography

Jean Landry, son of Jean Landry (abt.1696-aft.1763) and Madeleine Melanson (abt.1697-1769), was born 13 October 1727, and was baptized on 16 November at St. Charles aux Mines Parish, Grand Pré, Acadia.[1].

Marriages & Deportation

First marriage

Jean was married to Rosalie Boudreau (1733-1759)

Deportation

Jean-Baptiste, Rosalie and their 15-months-old son Firmin were deported to France in 1758 aboard one of the infamous "Five English ships" (Yarmouth, Patience, Mathias, Restoration, John Samuel). Their son Firmin died at sea during the crossing. Jean-Baptiste and Rosalie disembarked in Saint-Malo on January 23, 1759. She died soon after arrival, in March. [2]

Widowed, Jean remarried to Marguerite Daigre (abt.1740-)[3]
