Biography

Marie (Mary) Landry was the daughter of Fréderic Landry and Angele Boudreau Was a schoolteacher when she married Wilfred Blanchard in Lowell Massachusetts 1920 . She was also a schoolteacher in Bouctouche , New Brunswick , Canada , until she retied at age 64 .

She was vary kind and generous to her students , she was a great member of her community . She treat very students as they were family. When the government came out with the new math the new teachers didn't know what to do.


She started helping kids long after her retried . So one of her grandson friend wanted to her home and was telling her he was having trouble , she asked to see it , then she explained how to do it . It didn't matter how long it took . She sat there vary calmly until you got it .

Many of her former students graduation from high school and university's and college , Many had good jobs because of a teacher how cared .

Marie died in 1968 , i think she didn't know how big of influence she had . Marie funeral was at the Église Saint jean de Baptisie Church of Bouctouche , The church was packed of her former students how were there to honoured a schoolteacher , how helped them , it was one of the biggest funerals . She never turned anyone away how needed help or said anything bad about anyone

She didn't have a big fancy house , But it filled of love and laugher . She loved her family very much and was very proud of them all. She loved her grandkids vary much , they were her life .


Here house is gone now . But she is remembered . That's what a great schoolteacher does . If your kids are lucky they will have a teacher like that . I remembered her like it was yesterday . Ray Girouard

When i first meet Marie , she was reading a book. You could talk to her about anything . I was only sixteen at the time , she was retied . when i drive on that street I can still picture her and her daughter Anne and her husband Edward . Sons and a daughter Alex, Robert , Catherine and Gerald the old house i my mind , feels just like yesterday , what a kind person .
