Anselme Landry is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, Plaque 6 Right, having arrived in Louisiana aboard Le Bon Papa. Listed with him is his wife Agathe Bariau.[1]

Anselme Landry, son of Jean Baptiste (dit Jane) Landry and Magdeleine Melanson, was born on 19 October 1741, and baptized on 1 November, at St.-Charles-aux-Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadie.[2][3][4]

Anselme arrived at St. Malo from Boulogne in 1763; he resided at Pleudihen from 1763 to 1772. Anselme Landry and Agathe Barrieau were married 12 February 1765 in Pleudihen, Cotes d'Armor, France. [5][6][7]

Still seeking a home almost 30 years after the Acadian expulsion from their homeland, he was counted on the list of the Acadian families "who want to go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty," dated September 1784 in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, France.[8]

Ten months later he and his wife arrived at the port of New Orleans aboard le Bon Papa, on 29 July 1785.[9][10]

Anselme Landry died in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana on 29 October 1810.[11]

Thanks Julie, I have corrected his parents.
