Victoire was born on 11 February 1784 in Caraquet (which was then part of the Colony of Nova Scotia before New Brunswick became a province in August 1784) and was baptized on 6 June 1784 in Carleton (Saint-Joseph), Bonaventure, Québec. [1][2][3] She is the daughter of Anselme Landry and Marie Brideau.
Victoire married Dominique Pinet on 21 May 1810 in Bathurst (Sainte-Famille). [4]
Alternate date of death: 5 March 1859 in Grande-Anse. [5]
Research Notes
It is noted in her baptism record that she was baptized in 1784 and was born on 11 February of the "present year" (la présente année). Some have interpreted the word "présente" as being "précédente" = previous, thus born in 1783. However a birth in February 1783 is in conflict with Hélène's birth 5 months earlier on 21 September 1782. In our opinion it was written "présente année" whereas when referring to the previous year, it is written "l'année précédente".
