Leavitt's wife Sally died in 1832. Leavitt, a cooper aged 69, died on 30 Jun 1836, in Hingham, Massachusetts.[4][2] Leavitt is buried in the Hingham Center Cemetery in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.[5]
