Biography
Emily Caroline Lane was born in 1830 to Charles Henry John Lane and Anna Maria Raphaela (Smyth) Lane. She was baptized on 21 May 1830 in St John parish, Hackney Middlesex with her 1st cousin Jane Harriet, daughter of John Theophilus Lane. [1]
Her father was deployed to India with the 62nd Regiment of Foot, and there she died in October 1834 in Moulmein, Bengal, India. [2]
