William James Lane, son of Margaret Ann and William Lane (1803-1882), was born in Upper Canada around 1836.[1] He and his brother Thomas Lane (1844-1924) co-owned and farmed 100 acres at Con. 1, Lot 30 in Thornhill, Vaughan Township, York County.[2][3][4]
