Biography

George Lane was probably born about 1560 in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, England, since he had a son James as of 1586, and since his siblings were likely born 1540-1570.

His parents were Thomas Lane and Alice, according to his father's will.^[1]

He was identified in his father's will, dated 9 Dec 1586 and proved 14 June 1587.^[1][2] This will, he identifies son George Lane, son John, son Richard, daughter Joan Wynchfield, Elizabeth Culverhouse, Mary Page, James Lane grandson via George, daughter Dorothy (unmarried), sister Thorpe, and wife Alice.

There is no record for the name of his wife.

George Lane of Rickmansworth, yeoman, made a will dated 6 Nov 1627 and proved 27 Sept 1628.^[1] The will does not name his wife.

Children, according to his 1627 will:^[1]

Lane (1902) also indicates that he had son George. However that son is not mentioned in his father's will.^[1]
