It's unclear where the creator of this page got the birth information. Searching the web, I haven't been able to confirm either birth date. However, the death date of 1603, wife Beatrix, and 10 children including Richard for a Roger Lane of Hereford, England appears common. I think it would be safe to merge and indicate uncertainty in the birth date.

Lane-4622 and Lane-496 are not ready to be merged because: I agree that this appears to be the same person but there is almost 40 years difference in the date of birth, enough that it could be a father, son or even a grandfather, grandson difference. The date of Lane-4622 came from a Lane history. Do you have a referenced source for the much later date of Lane-496's birth?
