Sophia was a Friend (Quaker)

Sophia was born on 27 Oct 1796 (calculation based on exact age at death).^[1] She was the daughter of Gilbert and Susannah Lane.^[1]

She married first Enoch Carpenter , son of James, (dec’d.) and Freelove of Purchase, on 19d 6m 1822 [19 Jun 1822] in New Milford.^[2]

She was granted a certificate to the Amawalk monthly meeting on 13d 1m 1823 [13 Jan 1823].^[3]

She married second Henry Briggs, son of Edward Briggs and Anna, (dec’d.) of Sherman, on 16d 9m 1850 [16 Sep 1850] in Branch, Dutchess, New York.^[4]

She died on 22d 3m 1859 [22 Mar 1859] in Pawling, Dutchess, New York, aged 62 years, 4 months and 26 days.^[1] She was buried in Quaker Cemetery.^[5]
