Ada Jane Lane was D.A.R.. Her great great grandfather Jacob Lane fought in the revolutionary war and is buried in Greenbush Cemetery in Lafayette Indiana. Her DAR national number is 268611. I have received a copy of Ada Jane's application for membership to the DAR dated as accepted by the national board April 18, 1931. The local chapter name was General de La Fayette. Jacob Lane served as a private during his service. He was in Lt. Col. Mebanes Company of the First North Carolina Battalion commanded by Col. Thomas Clark. He enlisted for three years on Aug. 2, 1777.
