Children's death records aren't always great for their parents place of birth. The person giving the information cannot be expected to have that information. Or they just lost a loved one and memory can be fuzzy. I'm adding Census records that can also help with birth date (and found his death record :))
Biography
Moses was born about 1835 in Tennessee or Kentucky. His parents were married in Tennessee but most siblings were born in Kentucky.
