Robert Bruce Lang was born 01 Jun 1912 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of William John Lang & Evelena Harman. At some point between 1912-1938, he became known as Robert Bruce Evans. He does not appear on the 1921 Canada Census, with either name, nor is he living with his mother, Lena Lang, and his 8 siblings.

By 1938 he was living in Cloverdale, British Columbia, Canada and in 1940 he married Dorothy Binley in her church in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. He was always known as Bruce/Buster Evans and died 07 January 2004 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. His ashes were buried on 24 August 2005 in Ocean View Memorial Park, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

The Insurance Application is included as a source because he declares that his parents are both dead (even though his mother was still alive) and he shows the number and ages of his siblings.

Bruce's occupation was always given as "truck driver" and over the years he drove for Gilley Brothers Ltd., in Vancouver, B.C., Buckerfields, & Mc & Mc Quality Feeds in Surrey, B.C., and Murphy's Stationery & Printers in Vancouver, B.C. He owned his own trucks and called each new one "Betsy." He was required to wear a British Columbia Chauffeur Badge on his hat while at work and each year attached his current badge with pride. "Chauffeur" meant any person operating or driving a motor as an employee or for hire. I have his badges that he saved from 1938-1971 - they bring back such memories. He retired in 1975.
