Biography

Al was born on 16 November 1901 in Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, USA.[1]

In the 1910 census Al (age 8) was living in Ward 5, Jackson, Jackson, Indiana, USA.[2]

Education: Between 1916 and 1919 in Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana, USA. Sexta through quarta (Freshman to Junior in High School).[3]

Education: Between 1919 and 1922 in St. Paul's College, Concordia, Lafayette, Missouri, USA. Tertia to Prima (senior year of high school to second year of Junior College).[3]

In the 1920 census Al (age 18) was living in Ward 4, Seymour, Jackson, Indiana, USA.[4]

Education: Between 1922 and 1926 in Concordia Seminary, St Louis, Missouri, USA. (includes a year of vicarage).[3]

Event: Between 1924 and 1925 in Individual Note. Vicarage year. Pastor was Rev. Richard Jesse, a man Alvin admired.[3]

In about July 1926 Al (age 24) was employed in McClusky, Sheridan, North Dakota, USA. Accepted a call to congregation as Lutheran pastor.[3]

When Al was 24 he married Selma Louise Emilie Lohoefener on 15 August 1926 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma, Lafayette, Missouri, USA. Officiant: A. Griesse, Minister of the Gospel.[5][6][7][8]

In July 1929 Al (age 27) was employed in Wimbledon, Barnes, North Dakota, USA. He accepts call to congregatino in Wimbledon after 2 1/2 years at McClusky.[3]

In the 1930 census Al (age 28) was living in Wimbledon, Barnes, North Dakota, USA. Age: 27; Marital Status: Married; Relation to Head of House: Head.[9]

Al died at the age of 35 on 25 July 1937 in Norborne, Carroll, Missouri, USA.[10]
