Vera attended school in Callaway and graduated from the Callaway High School in 1927. She completed one year of post-graduate study at the high school.
Vera married Billie Dale Strong in 1935 at the Court House in BrokenBow, Nebraska.
They made their home in Callaway for several years, where Dale worked as an electrician for REA, the city and Roy Taylor. Vera and Dale had a cafe for four years in the building where the Museum is now. They moved to Gothenburg in1962, where Dale worked as an electrician at Monroe Plant. They lived here for the rest of their married life. Vera was a housewife and homemaker. After the death of Billie Dale, Vera moved to Seward. She was a resident of the Sundermann West Care Center in Seward from February 1994 until her death in 1995. She is buried in Rose Hill Cemetary.
