Elmer was born in 1913. He was the son of Casper Langenfeld and Anne Petsche. He passed away in 1923.

ELMER LANGENFELD DIES MONDAY NOON Bronchial Pneumonia and Weak Heart Cause of Death—Was Ten Years of Age.

Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Langenfeld mourn the loss of their son, Elmer, who died Monday afternoon at 12:16 o'clock, after being seriously sick for a number of weeks with bronchial pneumonia. The little boy had a weak heart as the result of sickness two years ago. Elmer was born in Carroll++ on April 13, 1913, and had just passed his 10th birthday. He was an especially bright, lovable boy, and was very popular with his schoolmates. Besides his parents he leaves two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at the Sts. Peter and Paul's church Wednesday morning. Interment wasmade in the Catholic cemetery.

NOTE: ++ error, he was born in Earling, Iowa. His parents moved to Carroll on April 10, 1914, per his mother's obituary.
