Biography

Walter Langley R.I. R.C.A is Notable.

Walter Langley R.I. (1852-1922.) was an English painter and founder of the Newlyn School of plein air artists.

He married firstly Clara Perkins in 1876 at Birmingham, with whom he had four children.

On the 7th of August 1895 Langley’s wife Clara died at the young age of 44. This left Langley a widower with four children. Two years later, Langley married his second wife Ethel Pengelly in St Johns Parish Church Penzance on June 24th, 1897. The couple went on to have one child.

He died aged 69 on the 21st of March 1922 at Clarence Street, Penzance, Cornwall, England.
