Birth and Origins

Deodatus was born c. 1579, the son of William Langley, rector of Prestwich (1569-1611).

Burke (in his 1899 editions) states that "He [Lt Henry Langley] was the son of Deodatus Langley who was the son of Rev. William Langley, Rector of Prestwich 1569-1611, who was supposed to be descended from the Langleys of Agecroft Hall, Co Lancaster."^[1]
