Hi James

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

P.S. Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles. Thanks!
Hi!

I'm Eowyn, a WikiTree Mentor and Team Member. We're building a single family tree that we all hook into. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our members help each other out.

Any questions I can answer? Happy to help :)

Hi, James. I received your message and you are correct about confirmation of membership, but I see you've already figured that out and are busy growing the tree. :D

Thank you, James, for volunteering to help grow our worldwide family tree. The more ancestors you add, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. :)

Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after. Additional tips are on my profile page. :)

Our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please try very hard not to add any duplicates to our shared tree.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

If you'd like to help us by adding your family branches or help to grow the tree in some other way, please select the volunteer button and leave a statement informing us of your interest in our project.

You're welcome to ask a question at G2G forum.
