Note: Marie Louise Catherine Langlois was born in Prairie Du Rocher on 1709. Marie Louise married Pierre Nicolas Messager (1713-1741) and had a child, Marie Louise Messanger (1739-1804). [citation needed] She passed away on 1741 in New Orleans, Louisiana.[3]

Note: " Langlois family from the first member to whom Prairie Du Rocher was granted by the French commandant Boisbriant. From other sources it is learned that Etienne had two brothers, Auguste, who lived at Kaskaskia, and Louis. What relation the notary Pierre Langlois was to these is not apparent. He was married to Catherine Normand Labriere, and had two children, Pierre and Marie Louise. (Note: Further present day info from a researcher indicates that there were four more children born) The latter signed a marriage contract with Pierre Lefebvre of Vincennes, October 9, 1785.

The life of Pierre Langlois is told in the documents published in this volume. He died in 1789, and his widow took oath to the inventory of the property December 14, of that year. K.MSS. - Court Record"

" Note From Researcher Camille Davis: I have listed from the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records as well as court documents from Plaquemine, Iberville parish four more children born to Pierre Langlois and Catherine Normand dit LaBriere: Elizabeth, Caterine, Andre and Antoine. These children all ended up in Iberville Parish, Louisiana. They lived around the Plaquemine and St. Gabriel areas of Iberville Parish. I know Antoine had a small plantation on the Plaquemine river. From DIOCESE OF BATON ROUGE CATHOLIC CHURCH RECORDS Vol. 2, 1770-1803:"[4]

I want to suggest that Marie-Louise was born 2-3 years later for two reasons. First, while marriages at age 14 were not uncommon, I think it was also common to wait until the wife was about18 before having children. Were she born in 1722, her mother would have been 18, and she would have been 18 when she was married. Also, age 20 would have been a little late to get married (though not a lot).
