Élisabeth Langlois was born on 21 Feb 1645 in Beauport and baptized on 7 Mar 1645 in the home of Zacharie Cloutier, registered in Notre-Dame de Québec, Canada, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Noël Langlois and of Françoise Garnier (Grenier). Godparents were Jean Guyon and Élisabeth Couillard, daughter of Guillaume Couillard. In the presence of known witness Zacharie Cloutier. The officiating priest was Joseph Poncet, a Jesuit. [1]
Her real and only first name is Élisabeth, as shown by her baptism record in 1645, her marriage record with Louis Côté in 1662, and her funeral record in 1696. But she was registered under the first name of Isabelle in her marriage to Guillaume Lemieux in 1669. Isabelle was a common nickname for Élisabeth at the time.
Marriage
Élisabeth Langlois married Louis Costé, son of Jean Costé and Anne Martin, on 6 Nov 1662 in the chapel of Beauport, registered in Notre-Dame de Québec.[2] Louis passed away about Sep 1668.
2nd Marriage
Isabelle Langlois, widow of Louis Costé, married Guillaume Lemieux, son of the late Pierre Lemieux and Marie Bénard, on 15 Dec 1669 in the chapel of Beauport, registered in Notre-Dame de Québec.[3]
Death and Burial
Élisabeth Langlois, wife of Guillaume Lemieux, passed away on 18 Nov 1696 being given the age of around 52 years on the record. Her burial was the following day in Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola parish cemetery of Cap-Saint-Ignace. She had only received "Anointing of the Sick" due to having suddenly lost the ability to speak.[4][5]

Mais elle a été enregistrée sous le prénom de Isabelle à son mariage avec Guillaume Lemieux en 1669. Isabelle était le surnom fréquent pour Élisabeth à l'époque.
Elle est décédée le 18 novembre 1696 à île aux Grues. Son service funèbre a été célébré le 19 novembre 1696 à Cap-St-Ignace. [6]
