John Langridge was born in Fletching, Sussex, England.

John LANGRIDGE was born on May 3, 1655, in Horsted Keynes, Sussex to Denise DUFFELL-HYDER and William LANGREDGE, age 21.. He married Anne STYSTED on September 14, 1675, in Fletching, Sussex. He had six children by the time he was 27. John LANGRIDGE lived in England in the mid-1600s when Royalists and Parliamentarians raised arms in one of the bloodiest battles in British history. He died on January 24, 1697, in Horsted Keynes, Sussex, at the age of 41.[1][2][3]

03 May 1655 Horsted Keynes, Sussex[4]While the records give Horsted Keynes as a location it did not exist until 1967, it is more likely that the actual location is Fletching, Sussex, England[5] He was christened on the 3rd of May 1655 at St. Giles Parish Church, son of William Langridge and Katherine Langridge

Marriage and Children

Ann Hysted 11th or the 14th September[6] 1675 St Andrew & St Mary Church, in Fletching, Sussex, England. It should be noted the H in the brides surname has been replaced with an S. They had several children.

Residence

Fletching[5] is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and is likely named after an Anglo-Saxon chieftain named Flecci or similar, with the 'ing' meaning 'people of'. The village was a major producer of Bows and Arrow heads from the 13th Century and these were used in the battle of Crecy (1346), Poitiers (1356) and Agincourt (1415).[7]

Death and Burial

John died in the January of 1697 in Horsted Keynes, Sussex, England.[5] He was buried in the 28th of January1697 at St. Giles Parish Church, Horsted-Keynes, Sussex, England.[8] The following records have slight different spellings in the surname an e is missing off the end of the surname in the 2nd the a has been replaced with an o. Both difference are probably transcription errors. [9][10]

Looking at - http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~pobjoyoneill/genealogy/ENGPOLLS/sussex1734/ssx1734L.html) was looking for a John Langridge. There are other Langridge' mention and a Langrish which is an older form of spelling found in other branches of the Langridge family
