When I first set up my profile page, the "tags" section was not obvious as to how it linked to active pages/categories/efforts, and the lack of predictive text in the tags-box meant I was just guessing and putting in "keywords" as I thought of interests, not as I knew whether they existed or not. I suspect other newbs may do this as well. Perhaps we should have some sort of tutorial/walk-through/wizard for what the different parts of the profile page are?

In the reenacting community, we call the American Revolution, "The American War for Independence" (or 'AWI') to differentiate from other "revolutions". The Military and War project oddly has no existing tag on their page for it...?

Thank you for checking in with me. I have reviewed the links...I’m slow-going as I keep up MyHeritage as well as adding “missing” people from WikiTree. Some day.....(!)

Thanks for your email. I read about a special sourcing system you want everyone to use but I don't know anything about it, I looked and found one example of how to source a book but no others, I don't want to do my sources wrong then have to go back and do them again, Is there a list of how to do sources such as US census from Ancestry, Or if I have a copy of a birth or death certificate or something that is not on the web. I have copies of divorce records & bastardy cases & other records that I got copies form the actual court houses, I want to do things correctly but am not sure how which is why I have not added any more people.

Thanks for any help you can give,

One more time! -- If I invite him from the edit page, can he join without creating a new profile? Two other family members for whom I had created a profile, ended up with a duplicate profile when they joined! The we had to merge them.

Janet, I found the answer under Help: Privacy - Unlisted -- As of May 2018, Unlisted is required for all profiles of living people who are not members. See the GDPR FAQ.

Thanks, sorry I bothered you. -- Gil

Now that I think about it, Janet, I do have a question. On Franke-573, my son, for some reason when I created and entered that profile, everything got set to 'private'. I want it to be 'private with public biography and family tree.' I thought I could change it on the privacy page by selecting the status I want, but it always goes back to 'private.' Any suggestions? -- Gil
