Researching the Cassidy branch of the family from the Kilbrogan, Bandon, County Cork. My Paternal Grandmother's maternal branch. My father's cousin added many of these profiles to wikitree a few years ago would like to build them up a little
Much of what I do as a Data Doctor relates to improving profiles. Enjoy working with this group of people in building and improving profiles here on WikiTree, including the profiles in my tree as new information is found.
My Grandmothers side of the family. A lot of the family here on the tree thanks to my fathers cousin. Looking to add more branches to the family tree. There are Irish roots linked to the surname Cassidy I am following up
Janet Wild's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Janet or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Janet:
When I first set up my profile page, the "tags" section was not obvious as to how it linked to active pages/categories/efforts, and the lack of predictive text in the tags-box meant I was just guessing and putting in "keywords" as I thought of interests, not as I knew whether they existed or not. I suspect other newbs may do this as well. Perhaps we should have some sort of tutorial/walk-through/wizard for what the different parts of the profile page are?
In the reenacting community, we call the American Revolution, "The American War for Independence" (or 'AWI') to differentiate from other "revolutions". The Military and War project oddly has no existing tag on their page for it...?
Thanks for your email. I read about a special sourcing system you want everyone to use but I don't know anything about it, I looked and found one example of how to source a book but no others, I don't want to do my sources wrong then have to go back and do them again, Is there a list of how to do sources such as US census from Ancestry, Or if I have a copy of a birth or death certificate or something that is not on the web. I have copies of divorce records & bastardy cases & other records that I got copies form the actual court houses,
I want to do things correctly but am not sure how which is why I have not added any more people.
One more time! -- If I invite him from the edit page, can he join without creating a new profile? Two other family members for whom I had created a profile, ended up with a duplicate profile when they joined! The we had to merge them.
Now that I think about it, Janet, I do have a question. On Franke-573, my son, for some reason when I created and entered that profile, everything got set to 'private'. I want it to be 'private with public biography and family tree.' I thought I could change it on the privacy page by selecting the status I want, but it always goes back to 'private.' Any suggestions? -- Gil
