Born on the 31st December 1930 Ted LangridgeGladys Yates one of seven children. Lived much of his teenage years with his Grandma and Uncle Fred in Wootton Bridge to help 'look' after his uncle Fred who had lost a leg in the first world war.
Served in the Royal Air Force for 3 years rejoined and served in the Royal Air Force for a further 22 years last posting was detachment to the Army's Parachute Regiment in charge of the parachute repair and packaging Department. Demobbed in 1977

1940 -1953 Wootton Bridge, Isle of Wight
1950 joined the Royal Air Force and lived in Stafford for a while. this is where he met mum Mary Elgey as she was stationed here as well. Left the Air Force for a while
1954 - 1955 lived in Neath South Wales, but work was hard to find. Considered taking the £10 deal and emigrating to Canada but in the end decided to rejoin the airforce.
1956 -1957 Stationed at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, England.
1957 -1959 Stationed at RAF Katunayake, Negombo, Ceylon
1959 -1962 Stationed at RAF Lynham, Wiltshire, England
1962 - 1965 Lived in Shalstone, Buckinghamshire, England dad was Stationed at RAF Abingdon.
1965 -1968 Stationed at RAF Eastleigh, Nairobi, Kenya
1968 - 1973 Stationed Aldershot, Hampshire, England , the home of the British Army. During his service in Aldershot he was attached to the Parachute Regiment, the paratroopers were army but the parachutes belonged to the RAF, that was the reason for an RAF detachment in Aldershot. Stayed in Aldershot following demob / discharge for the Royal Air Force.
1993 - 2006 Lived in Cuddington, Northwich, Cheshire, England
2000 - 2010 Lived in Warminster, Wiltshire, England until his death in 2010 from Pancreatic cancer
