Research Notes

His name is variously given as Windsor and Winsor; hers as Elmina or Elmira, Dunham or Durham. One of the sources listed in Laphams in America is "The Windsor Lapham Chart in possession of Harold **" and in his own listing it's Windsor and Elmina Durham. but in his father Thomas' listing you find "Winsor 5, b. 1800; m. Elmira Dunham."

from http://www.rogerwilliams.org/genealogy/4-gen0001.htm his mother's mother's family name was "Winsor" which would argue for that spelling.

9\25\18 there were three changes recorded because it kept telling me I hadn't saved it. Never had that happen before.

Because of his Winsor ancestors and his gravestone I am convinced he was named "Winsor". I am also convinced that at some point he or his descendants began to use "Windsor" instead.

I'm still working on his wife's name.

Anyone doing a search needs to use Winsor not Windsor.
