Edwin Wade Lapham served in the Army from 18 Jul 1918 to 15 Mar 1919. He was born 5 Mar 1894 (sic) and died 11 Apr 1932 at the Grey Oakes Sanatarium in Yonkers New [5][6]

There is an entry at Ancestry for this Edwin, son of Thomas H & Mary Vanderbilt that calls him Edwin W.V. Lapham with the dates 5 Mar 1895 - 11 Apr 1932.[7]
The 1930 census for Mount Vernon, Westchester New York lists:
Which leads to the question - was Ed already in the sanitarium in Yonkers by 1930? which got me wondering - was he gassed during the war? as so many were.
