Biography

Birth

Marie Angélique Laporte was born and baptized on 6 June 1748 in Repentigny[1], the daughter of Pierre Laporte and Angélique Blais. Her godfather was Laurent Archambault and godmother Marie Josephe Allard.

Marriage

Marie Angélique Laporte married Pierre Rivet on 8 Nov 1773 in L'Assomption[2]

There are 6 known children from the marriage, 1 died young and 3 married. Baptisms were all done in L'Assomption church, but several records indicate the family was established in the Seigneurie de Lavaltrie.[3]

Death

Marie Angélique's last child is born 18 Sept 1783. Her son Pascal died on 8 Nov 1799, buried the next day in St-Paul-de-Lavaltrie, and there is no mention that she is deceased on this record. When her son Pierre Rivet marries on 4 Aug 1800 in the same place, she is listed as deceased. No funeral has been identified as hers so far.[3]

Laporte-269 and Laporte-224 appear to represent the same person because: probably same woman, married a Rivet
