Biography

Charles was born about 1867. He was the son of John Lapping and Margaret Anne Robbs

In the 1871 census Charles (age 4) was the son of John Lapping in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. His father was a Private in 5th Dragoon Guards. ^[1]

In the 1881 census Charles (age 14), Labourer Leather Works, was the son of John Lapping at 7 Lorraine Place, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.^[2]

Charles married Mary Jane Lofthouse on 16 March 1889 in Hunslet Moor, St Cuthbert, Yorkshire, England.^[3]

In the 1891 census Charles (age 24) was in 17 Almond St. Hunslet, Yorkshire. He was a Gas Meter Repairer. ^[4]

In the 1901 census Charles (age 34) was in Hunslet, Yorkshire, England.^[5]

In the 1911 census Charles (age 44), Gas Meter Fitter, was the married head of household at 1 Canonbury St. Beeston. Leeds, Holbeck, England.^[6]

Charles's death (age 70) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1937 in the Bridlington district.^[7]
