Utica Daily Press Monday January 24, 1966 Mrs. Maud L. Ross, 84, formerly of 1552 Kemble St., widow of Charles A. Ross, died January 22 in the Murphy Nursing Home, New Hartford. She was born in the town of Russia, Herkimer County, daughter of George A. and Mary Pooler Laraway. She was educated in town of Russia schools. She was married to Mr. Ross in 1908 in the town of Russia. He died in 1948. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She also was a member of Temple OES Chapter 300. She was past state Department chaplain of the GAR auxiliary, and the past president of Circle 17, Ladies of the GAR. She was employed for 30 years by the former Allen Schmidt and Pringle clothing firm, retiring in 1953. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Irene) Cleveland, a son, Robert J. Ross, and a sister, Cora B. Ellis, all of Utica. The funeral will be at 11 Wednesday from the Surridge and Roberts Memorial Home with the Rev. Robert W. Sampson, pastor, Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be n Townsend Cemetery, Stittville. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow.^[2]
