John Larkin was born at 5:30 a.m. on 20 Jan 1876 in Taylor's Terrace, Westleigh, Lancashire. He and his twin brother Thomas were the sons of William Henry Larkin and Alice (Morris) Larkin. Their births were registered on 22 Jan 1876, in Leigh district. Their father's occupation was given as coal pit sinker, and their address as Taylor's Terrace, Westleigh.
Both babies died in early infancy; their deaths were registered in the same quarter they were born, in Leigh district.
